Taxidermy Services!

Our taxidermy studio at Lone Eagle Outdoors of Heber-Overgaard AZ can create artistic-quality big game mounts using state-of-the-art materials and techniques.   Our taxidermist, Loyal Kriley, is able to skillfully form most species of big game into beautiful, life-like shoulder, half-lifesize or lifesize mounts.  Our capes are pressured tanned for the highest quality and longest lasting finished mount.  In addition, we provide european mounts, plaque mounts and skull bleaching.

What type of training has your taxidermist had?

Mr. Kriley attended the Montana School of Taxidermy, run by Jeff Welch.  Mr. Welch has been performing taxidermy for over 30 years at his own studio, and started the School in 1988.  Mr. Welch also established the first commercial tanning school in America in 1995.  He has trained over 500 taxidermists in the past 25 years.  The techniques Mr. Kriley learned from Mr. Welch allow him to create big game mounts that look as if they could still be alive.

What if I don't have a cape?

Shoulder mounts can be created from just a set of antlers.  If we don't already have one, we are able to get capes for most North American species and create the same beautiful shoulder mounts you find on our Gallery pages.  Call for more information.

I've never caped an animal before - can you help?

Of course - call for assistance with proper caping techniques for any mount - it can save you money and improve the quality of the finished product.  Please note that hides for tanning are accepted on a case-by-case basis - call  928-535-4323 for more information.
